Imagefoundry is proud to be the only Canadian service bureau featuring a custom-designed, ultra high resolution fine art scanning system. At the heart of the system is German-built digital capture back featuring a state-of-the-art sensor array. This is absolutely highest-resolution sensor on the market and it is without a peer when it comes to amount of captured detail, colour fidelity and scanning speed. It is coupled to a custom-designed camera body by Linhof and a custom-designed, ultra-performance lens by Schneider. Both the body and the lens were developed specifically to complement the sensor for an unprecedented degree of precision.

The system is coupled with custom-designed motorized lighting assembly featuring daylight balanced, full-spectrum KinoFlo light banks. Large artwork holder and camera monting systems complete the package. It is fully portable and can be installed at an art institution or a studio within 1-2 hours.

For ultimate mobility, digital sensor back can be attached to any 4x5 view camera and a laptop computer. It has its own powerpack and can be operated autonomously for hours on a single set of replaceable batteries.

A robust scanning and colour-managemet software ensures a smooth functioning of components and a perfect colour match.

Last but not least, our system is fully qualified for handling archival and delicate work. Its UV- and heat-free lighting is guaranteed to be 100% safe for all materials. Simplified handling and lack of overhanging parts ensures the greatest degree of safety for your precious artwork. Nothing ever touches the surface of the art.

Pricing guide

The pricing for our fine art scanning system is set up to be as straighforward as possible. Your cost is based on the size of your original along with enlargement factor for a reproduction print. See the table below for a sample of our prices and please do not hesitate to contact us for a custom quote. A flat 20% discount applies to all orders with 3 or more scans. The table below assumes 300dpi as a default resolution.

But wait, there's more!
One very common scenario is that you only need a small scan now (say, for a submission or a website or a catalog for an upcoming show) but you are going to need a larger scan later (ie. for documentation, as a starting point for derivative projects, etc.). Of course, later the artwork might be sold and gone.. or framed in a way that makes it hard to scan.. or other such logistic nightmares.

So here's our offer - bring us your piece now, and we will scan it both at low and high resolution. You can have a low res scan for $35, now. We will keep a large scan stored securely and if/when you need it later, you can get it at our regular price, minus $35 you already paid. There's no 20% volume discount with this deal, though.
